Somerset-based racing driver Paul Lund is set to return to competition in the French Tout Terrain Rally Championship.
It will be a switch of disciplines for Lund, who usually races in the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup on British circuits. "Tout Terrain doesn't really have a UK equivalent which is one reason why I go to Europe to do it," said Lund.
"The easiest way to describe it is a sort of mini Paris-Dakar rally. It's a bigger challenge for me than the circuit stuff here in the UK."
Lund has rebuilt his Toyota RAV4 after a crash last year
"I have had some success out there before but last season I went out at the tail end of the year and managed to hit a tree which obviously put an end to the outing. The car is back together now and hopefully we'll be taking some silverware away from the French," added Lund, who is from Butleigh Wootton near Glastonbury.
Lund will be swapping his usual Alfa Romeo 147 for a Toyota RAV4, and will compete in the production class for cars up to 2 litres with the assistance of navigator Ross Gill.
